 | For over 30 years Peter has been telling Christian tales of Squidgy Bod in family services, childrens's holiday clubs and schools. He has now teamed up with the artist Drew Snell, the musical composer Roger Jones and the former teacher Derek Baker to produce 'Squidgy Bod goes to church'. We hope it will be the first of many such tales which will be published and become available for use in churches, Sunday Schools, schools and at home. In this story Squidgy and Podgy Bod enter a church building for the first time in their lives during a thunderstorm. It happens to be Harvest-time and as they encounter an old man in a long black dress the twin themes of caring for others and helping outsiders to become insiders unfolds. Consequently the story and all the other resources available can be used in church or school at harvest-time; in church when considering how to reach outsiders; in school when planning a trip to the local church; in assemblies or at home with the children. Great materials for a rainy day are included on the CD ROM. This story is aimed at children aged from 6-10 years, in church, school, holiday clubs and at home. Supporting material will assist teachers, preachers, Sunday School, childrens' workers and parents to provide a variety of exciting and modern presentations, work and fun with a gently Christian theme. |
